GeoSense Mobility™ is a flexible solution for tracking your mobile workforce. GeoSense Mobility provides organizations with tightly integrated functional modules carefully designed to increase productivity, streamline operations, and lower costs.

GeoSense Mobility collects location information from users using handheld computer devices. The handheld devices would be equipped with a GPS receiver (embedded, Bluetooth, CF Card, or serial snap-on) and loaded with Enovia's Soft-Locator application. The application would utilize the GPS signal to obtain location information, and then relay this information to GeoSense Mobility servers hosted by the organization.

GeoSense Mobility is designed to meet the needs of organizations that have deployed, or are planning to deploy, a handheld computer soltuion for their mobile workforce. Organizations engaged in managing mobile workforce in market segments such as Retail Sales, Market Surveys, or Field Inspections can benefit hugely by adding location awareness to their handheld applications. The problems that GeoSense Mobility helps solve include:

• Route Planning and schedule adherence.
• Route Verification (know when the employees made their customer visits)
• Route Statistics (how long employees stayed at custmer locations, how long did they drive between visits, number of unscheduled stops, etc.)

Information transmission between the Handheld Computer and GeoSense servers can be online (near-realtime) if the Handheld Computer contains a GPRS communications module. Alternatively, the user may opt to use the Offline mode, where data is collected and stored by the Soft-Locator application. Once the user syncs the Handheld Computer, all the caollected location data would be automatically transferred to GeoSense Mobility servers and made available to the system users.

The Soft-Locator can also be integrated into other applications that run on the handheld so as to provide location-information to these applications. Lication information may be simple coordinates, current address, or a map of the vicinicty of the handheld user.

Currently, the Soft-Locator application is available for Handheld Computers that run Windows Mobile operating system. The appliction has been successfully tested on Intermec, Symbol, HP, and iMate handhelds running Windows Mobile 2003 or WIndows Mobile 5. Other brands running these operating systems should be able run the application as well.

From the end-user's perspective, the system is accessible via a web browser. The interface provides a rich set of features and presents valuable information via a clean and intuitive graphical user interface.
